Bobby Shmurda‘s lawyer thinks the police are out to get his client. After getting popped by NYPD after a two year investigation into gang-related shootings and drug trafficking in Brooklyn, the “Hot Boy” rapper’s lawyer says Shmurda, born Ackquille Pollard, is the victim.

“It’s a bunch of bulls—t,” said Howard Greenberg, who is representing Shmurda, 20, real name Ackquille Pollard, and his brother Javase Pollard, who goes by “Fame.”
“The government hates rap and by extension hates rappers. If his name was Joe Blow, they’d have given him a desk-appearance ticket or cut him loose from the precinct.”
According to sources, Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel and his brother Fame, born Javase Pollard, are connected to dozens of crack cocaine sales and shootings in Brooklyn.
Nevertheless, Greenberg points to Shmurda’s burgeoning rap career as why he is basically being made guilty by association. He also made it clear that informants are in the mix.
“The police recruit guiltless, loveless informants who are jealous, and they point the finger at people who are making their way,” he said. “My guy has the world in the palm of his hands. He needs to commit crimes like I need to fly the space shuttle.”
