Just in time for the start of the National Hockey League's season kickoff this weekend, Seventeen got to sit down with one of the NHL's most inspiring-and kickbutt-young stars: The Columbus Blue Jackets' Rick Nash.

The super-humble (and, we admit, teddy-bear-cute!) team captain shared his secret to sports success: "There will always be critics when you play sports, so you just have to stay focused on having fun," he said — and revealed some of his favorite things (Family Guy! Dumb & Dumber! Chocolate!). But what really blew us away was Rick's charity involvement: He's totally devoted to his community, and even started the #61 Club where he gives more than 30 tickets away to every Blue Jackets home game to students who make 61 healthy choices in a month. Awww.

So as you watch Rick tear up the ice this Saturday against the Minnesota Wild, know that, beneath all those hockey pads and that tough-as-ice play is a heart of gold. (And that makes the four-time NHL All-Star a true star in Seventeen's book!)

So tell us: Are you excited for the start of hockey season? What team do you root for?
