VIDEO: Is Wendell Moore the best 13-year-old hooper since Andrew Wiggins?

The headline here asks a question, so let’s answer it: Is young Wendell Moore, a 13-year-old from North Carolina, the best 13-year-old since Canadian basketball superstar Andrew Wiggins? The answer seems to be a resounding, “Maybe.”

Moore, who already stands more than a head above his opponents at 6-foot-3, will be competing for Cox Mill High School in two years. That’s assuming he doesn’t make the jump to a program like Findlay Prep to further hone his on court talent. Though he’s still in middle school, Moore is not reluctant to elevate for a lofted assist over the rim, then throw it down with authority to bring real intimidation to a middle school basketball game.

You can see plenty more highlights of Moore below, where he is running up against true top competition at a recent ScoutsFocus camp. No, Moore is perfect, but he sure is athletic for a 13-year-old, don’t you think?

Now let’s compare Moore and Wiggins for just a second. Wiggins’ game was probably a bit more refined as a 13-year-old than Moore’s, but that doesn’t mean he won’t catch up. And soon.
