“Empire” grew yet again in both demo ratings and total viewers, with its 5.7 among those aged 18-49 being the top regular broadcast drama since a 2009 “Grey’s Anatomy.” The hip-hop soap opera hauled in 14.2 million total viewers; Fox finished first outright on Wednesday.
CBS’s premiere of “CSI: Cyber” had an OK demo number, but topped 10 million total viewers.
Fox was first in ratings with a 3.9 rating/12 share in the advertiser-coveted demographic and in total viewers with an average of 11.5 million, according to preliminary numbers. “American Idol” at 8 p.m. had a 2.1/7 and 8.8 million viewers. “Empire” at 9 scored the aforementioned numbers and a 16 share.
ABC was second in ratings with a 2.2/7, but fourth in viewers with 7.2 million. “The Middle” at 8 got a 2.2/7 and 8.3 million viewers. “The Goldbergs” at 8:30 received a 2.5/8 and 7.9 million viewers. “Modern Family” at 9 earned a 3.4/10 and 9.6 million viewers. “Black-ish” at 9:30 posted a 2.3/6 and 6.8 million viewers. “Nashville” at 10 had a 1.4/4 and 5.3 million viewers.
CBS was third in ratings with a 2.0/6 and second in viewers with 10.2 million. “Survivor” at 8 got a 2.3/7 and 9.9 million viewers. “Criminal Minds” at 9 had a 1.9/6 and 10.5 million viewers. “CSI: Cyber” at 10 debuted to a 1.8/5 and 10.3 million viewers.
NBC was fourth in ratings with a 1.8/5 and third in viewers with 7.2 million. A special “The Voice,” which showed the best of blind auditions, received a 2.1/6 and 8.4 million viewers. A rerun followed.
Univision was fifth in ratings with a 1.2/4 and in viewers with 3.1 million.
Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and seventh in viewers with 1.4 million.
The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.4/1 and sixth in viewers with 1.5 million. Following a repeat, “The 100” had a 0.5/1 and 1.5 million viewers.
