Deborah Jean Hunt, age 65, of Sturgis, passed away Monday evening, March 1, 2015, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.

She was born Feb. 11, 1950, in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of the late Jack and Betty (Thomas) Guinther.

Deborah had been a resident of Sturgis most of her life, graduating from Sturgis High School with the class of 1968.  

Deborah enjoyed gardening, plants, music, animals, and was a hard worker who enjoyed most of all the time she spent with her grandchildren. She was a very loveable, generous and caring person who accepted everyone as they were and taught her children how to enjoy the simple things in life.  

Surviving are her husband, Patrick; four children, Aja Davis, Miles Davis, Erik Davis and Jason K. Walters, all of Sturgis; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Drew, Anthony, Rebecca, Kylie, Dominic, Cameron and Nakiah; four step-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Guinther of Sebring, Fla.; and beloved dog Capone.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Howard; and beloved dog Keyle.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Rosenberg Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 807 E. Chicago Road, Sturgis.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Deborah Jean Hunt will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be directed to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
