Police identify victim of New Windsor crash

NEW WINDSOR -  Town of New Windsor police have released the identity of the man who died in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on Rt. 9W southbound near the New Windsor/Cornwall town line.

Police say Joseph Cassidy, 57, of Washingtonville was driving a vehicle that veered off the road and flipped over in a wooded area. Cassidy was pronounced dead after being taken to St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital.

Cassidy was the lone occupant of the vehicle. Police are looking into whether a medical emergency prior to the accident could have been a contributing factor.
