Partying was not the only thing going down in Atlanta over BET Hip-Hop Awards weekend. Snoop Dogg and the League of Young Voters hosted a breakfast to spotlight their “No Guns Allowed” campaign.

Titled “No Guns Allowed: Fallout from Ferguson,” the panel was moderated by the League of Young Voters’ Executive Director, Dr. Robert “Biko” Baker. The panelists included CEO of AllHipHop Chuck Creekmur, St. Louis Rapper and Activist Tef Poe and Lucia McBath, mother of the Florida teen Jordan Davis. [Davis’ killer, Michael Dunn, has been found guilty of murder].

The goal of the event was not only discussion to foster action in light of the events in Ferguson and discuss issues plaguing the African-American community. Tef Poe, who has been hands on and in the streets of Ferguson, was particularly inspiring.

Michael Brown’s family was also in attendance while Snoop Dogg was able to stop through and lend his support to the event, which was sponsored by Cashmere Agency, ThoughtWorks, HandsUpUnited.org and AllHipHop.
