Taxi flag down rate rolled back to P30

taxiGood news for taxi commuters as the Land Transportation and Franchising Board (LTFRB) issued a P10 provisional decrease of taxi flag down rate effective on March 9 or Monday next week.

From P40, the taxi flag down rate nationwide including airport taxis will be pegged at P30. But the P3.50 rate charged for every succeeding 300 meters will still be in effect, said LTFRB board member Antonio Enrile Inton Jr.

The P10 flag rate reduction stemmed from the series of public hearings conducted by the agency with operators and drivers in response to the continuing decline in global oil prices.

Since the decrease is provisional, Inton said taxi meters won’t be recaliberated.
