Registration opens for April 25 Youth Peace Summit

RICHMOND — Registration is now open for the the 11th annual Richmond Youth Peace Summit, Saturday, April 25. The Summit will be held at St. Paul's Baptist Church-Southside Campus, 700 E. Belt Blvd., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This free event is open to young people ages 12-19. Lunch will be provided. Participants are asked to arrive by 9:45.

The summit promotes teen leadership, nonviolent conflict resolution, social justice and positive self-expression. Participants will have the opportunity to select from a wide variety of actively engaging 90-minute workshops of interest to teens. Workshops topics will include conflict resolution, anger management, drumming, spoken word poetry, building healthy relationships, gun violence prevention, yoga, zumba and much more.

The summit also features a mid-day performance by talented local youth and a morning panel discussion on Working for Racial Justice in Richmond. Participants will earn credit for six community service hours.
