Plans were unveiled last night for Palladino’s, the upscale steakhouse moving into the fire-damaged former home of Colombo’s  at 1934 E. Passyunk Ave.

The Passyunk Avenue Revitalization Corporation, which bought the building in February, hosted a meet-and-greet for near-neighbors with chef/owner Luke Palladino. We weren’t able to get to the meeting, but we did get a hold of a couple of renderings.

Palladino plans 80 seats inside and another 40 outside, a full bar with liquor license, craft cocktail list and a wine list, and big a neon sign on the front. But this isn’t necessarily what the sign will look like, said PARC director Sam Sherman:

The renovated building will be across the street from a $500,000 project to create an East Passyunk gateway at the wedge-shaped plot of land at the intersection of Passyunk, Broad and McKean. Work on that project should be starting any day now.

So, that makes two improvements over what’s there now:

    Judging from the renderings, it’s also going to bring a lot of cars with it. 😛

    But seriously… looks good. Walked by it this morning and guys were already in there cutting things and banging other things (to use the technical terms).

    nice change, but loose the neon, seriously, I hope Sam means that when he says it.

    It looks good, but I would lose the awning. It would make for a more vibrant corner without it and I am not sure what it adds.

    I love that this building is getting used. But dose it have to be so ugly? Lets get a tasteful design for the coloring.

    Love that this building is finally being renovated and turned into a great new business, but no neon, please! This is our neighborhood, not Atlantic City.

    The neon will be AWESOME! It’s a major freaking intersection to a business district. You want paking and dim lights move to Jersey.
