Virginia State dominates Lincoln in doubleheader
The Virginia State men's baseball team swept CIAA opponent Lincoln 17-1 and 5-0 on Sunday afternoon in Lincoln Univ., Pa.
In Game 1, Joshua Markins hit his fourth home run along with going 2-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Tashaun Taylor went 1-3 with three runs scored and an RBI as Nick Christopher went 1-4 with two runs scored and 3 RBI.
Tyler Coleman went 2-4 with two runs scored and 2 RBI with Jay Dee Johnson went 2-3 with three runs scored and 2 RBI. David Markins went 2-4 with a run scored and an RBI along with Jamison Griffin who went 1-3 with two runs scored and 2RBI.
Christopher pitched a complete game giving up one hit with five strikeouts. Lincoln's Demetrius Robinson took the loss for Lincoln.
Virginia State moves to 22-10 overall and 8-4 in the CIAA after Sunday afternoon's games.
