IQ2aFoxtel today will reveal its master plan, moving forward with news on channels, technology, downloads, pricing and more.

Last night CEO Kim Williams last night told an intimate gathering of media at ARIA Restaurant, “We are making 10 major announcements tomorrow and we are really pumped about it.”

For more than a week media has been speculating about extra channels, theorising about price rises, and watching its competitors Austar and Optus TV leaking information.

The Pay TV company is expected to announce 30 new channels due on November 15th and give away digital video recorders with new subscriptions.

Attending the party was Hollywood actress Rumer Willis (daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis), hunky Liam Hemsworth, Jessica Mauboy, Ruby Rose and other Pay TV personalities.

  1. Why is Austar and Foxtel not allowed to compete??? I had subscribed to Foxtel for over 15 years in Brisbane …moved to Port Macquarie and now I have no choice…Austar is it, and what a load of rubbish the box is???? no comparison to Foxtel and we ring them weekly with problems. They have admitted t me that teir box is a load of crap… Am not very happy and would love to go back to Foxtel. What ever happend to competition???

  2. This is all great.. but how about they sort out their current delivery first. Today was the fist game in the MLB and I wanted to watch the Twins play the Yankees…

    How upset was I to find that Fox Sports 1, 2 and 3 were all not available becuase there is ‘no incoming signal’… if this was the case.. how come I could watch other Foxtel channels?

    Foxtel are a rip off.. all they do is take.. and give back little.

    I can’t wait for all the extra free digital channels to be launched… first to go will be Foxtel…

    *groan*.. i have wasted more time now posting this… so frustrated…

  3. @ Jay Jay – Are you sure you missed out?

    I’ve had Foxtel for a while now (less than a year though) and they rang up a while ago and said because we had IQ2 we could have an IQ box in any other room in the house (free install / free box, just $15 a month access fee), so we had one put in the bedrooom. You should be entitled to the same thing – maybe you should give them a call?

  6. Free IQ boxes for value package subscriptions… So I currently subscribe to Platinum. Does this mean now my $10 IQ fee is waived or is this only for those new customers who sign up after November 15th.????

  7. Personally, I’m waiting till there are more HD options before I invest in a Foxtel subscription. Foxtel have done a good job sucking in a lot of new subscribers to SD to get them on board with free offers, but I’m hoping something good will be announced today to get me interested.

  11. wow 10 announcements, looking foward to finding out what they are!.the ninemsn article is awful, they seem to care more about rumer willis, while the foxtel announcements are just an after thought.

  12. No coverage yet on Foxtel, Prolly due to the Wayne Swan press confrence.. im watching SkyNews Active so im watching News/Bis/Apac at the same time since it would concern all three.
