Father, son killed in Mandaue drug bust

A FATHER and son died on the spot after trying to engage in a shootout with police in an aborted drug bust at Paknaan relocation site in Mandaue City at 3:30 am Monday.

Police identified the fatalities as 43-year-old Jerome Abad and his 22-year-old son Junmar Abad, residents of the area. Supt.

Pedy Noval of the Mandaue City police said they have been monitoring the elder Abad’s illegal drug activities since he lived in Mahiga Creek in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

The Abads transferred to the Paknaan relocation site early this year. Jerome was shot by police at the second floor of his house while Junmar was shot at the groundfloor afterward.

Found in their home were sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, cash, one .45 pistol with ammunition, one .38 revolver and three swords.
