2014 ASAE Conference Must-See-Events

The ASAE Annual Meeting and Exposition is just around the corner – running Aug. 9-12 in Nashville, Tenn. There are more than 100 events over the course of those four days. Do you know which you plan on attending?

As always, MultiView will be attending the conference in full-force, not only featured in the Exposition Hall at booth 329, but actively engaged in the Learning Labs and of course, the annual MultiView Party at the Wildhorse Saloon on Aug. 10.

With so many great activities occurring – from lectures, nightly parties, workshops and exhibition events, the selection may be a bit overwhelming to first-timers. MultiView has curated a list of must-see-events to assist in navigating the conference.

Must-See Events for the 2014 ASAE Conference

1. Attend this year’s opening lecture by UPenn’s youngest tenured, yet highly-regarded Wharton School of Business professor, Adam Grant.

Aug. 10 at 8:30 a.m. at the Music City Center Grand Ballroom

Seeing this New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-selling author at the opening session should rank high on the to-do-list.

As one of Business Week’s top business professors under 40, Adam Grant has consulted companies and organizations such as Google, Apple, the U.S. Department of State and Goldman Sachs. Now, ASAE members get a chance to glean insights from this industry expert. Grant is discussing a single, effective and consistent communication style for navigating across all of the differing tones of interaction: networking, collaboration, influence, leadership and negotiation.

In addition to great talks, there are some particularly useful Learning Labs occurring this year. There are just more than 100 workshops occurring during the ASAE Conference – all great topics and many running concurrently.

2. Participate in Learning Labs geared towards digital marketing and strategy.

Aug. 10-12 at varying times and rooms in the Music City Center

Stay up-to-date with the latest digital marketing insights for your association, or even develop an understanding of how it can help your business.

Learning Labs and opening and closing sessions represent a great way to improve or develop new skills and ideas to take back to an organization and are highly important for association leaders. ASAE participants have an opportunity to earn credits towards Certified Association Executive (CAE) and Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification and recertification.

3. Enjoy great food, fun and music MultiView’s free party at the Wildhorse Saloon.

August 10 –11 from 8:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at the Wildhorse Saloon

This year’s Multiview party at Wildhorse will the best ever – it is being held at Nashville’s #1 Dining and Entertainment destination.

Wildhorse is a historic, three-level warehouse that was turned into a 60,000 square feet live music and dance venue, complete with a restaurant, bar and TV studio. More than 1.5 million music fans frequent the venue every year to eat their fill of Wildhorse’s award-winning southern BBQ.

Party On The Moon, a popular band based in Atlanta, will keep the venue rocking all night with live music from The Temptations to the O Jay’s as well as complimentary line dance lessons.

The venue also features fun activities off of the dance floor as well, such as a large arcade, pool tables, shuffleboard, air hockey, foosball and a variety of other fun events.

The annual MultiView party is a great way to develop new relationships with association colleagues and friends as well as celebrate the insights your team has learned at the 2014 ASAE Conference.
