Hospital Auxiliary hosts summer bus trips

WAYNE COUNTY - Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Sandy’s Travelers will sponsor two summer bus trips. A portion of the proceeds from each trip benefits Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A bus trip to Opening Day at the Little League World Series in Williamsport on Aug. 14 will depart from Route 6 Mall, Honesdale, at 7 a.m.

The trip includes a tour of the World of Little League Museum, opening ceremonies featuring a parade of teams from around the world and two Little League games. The bus will stop for dinner on your own at Cracker Barrel and will return to Honesdale approximately 8 p.m.

The cost is $40, which includes bus transportation, museum admission and driver tip. Admission to the stadium is free. Paid reservations are due by Aug. 1.

Finish off the summer with a three-day get away to Newport, RI, Sept. 24 to 26.

This trip departs from Avery Transportation garage, Beach Lake, at 7 a.m. and will stop for two hours at Mystic, CT, en route. Other highlights include a 90-minute narrated cruise on Narragansett Bay, a 22-mile journey on the Newport Dinner Train with dinner and entertainment, the Green Animal Topiary Gardens, Breakers Mansion, Elms Mansion and the National Museum of American Illustration.

The cost is $675 single occupancy, $575 double and $550 triple. Includes two nights’ accommodations, two full breakfasts, two dinners, baggage handling, admission fees and driver tip. Paid reservations are due by Aug. 15.
