Like Olaf, have you ever closed your eyes and imagined yourself in another place? In summer, maybe? At Walt Disney World Resort? Or perhaps in the snow-covered kingdom of Arendelle, from Disney’s instant classic, “Frozen.” Why not all three?! After all, the hot and the cold are both so intense, if you put them together it just makes sense! And that’s just what we’re doing as part of an incredible new experience.

This summer, the world of “Frozen” takes center stage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We’re opening up the gates July 5 for a summer-long happening, featuring a full day of all-new, immersive “Frozen” experiences you won’t want to miss, every day through September 1!

Here are some of the highlights:

  • Olaf on Summer Vacation – Olaf the snowman is having the time of his life on his very first summer vacation! He chimes in throughout the day to keep everyone updated on all his adventures. Plus, you can pick up your very own Take-Along Olaf from locations in the park, so he can join you on your summer vacation. And when you share your photos with Olaf on social media, be sure to tag them with #OlafSummerVacation. They may just get selected to appear in that day’s grand finale!
  • Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome – At 11:00 a.m. each day, Elsa and Anna arrive in Hollywood as part of their goodwill tour of neighboring kingdoms, making their way down Hollywood Boulevard in a horse-drawn sleigh. Kristoff is along for the fun, too, joined by a flurry of skaters, skiiers, ice cutters and more! The entire procession culminates in a special moment at the Sorcerer’s Hat Icon Stage to officially welcome the visiting royalty to this kingdom of Hollywoodland.
  • For the First Time in Forever: A “Frozen” Sing-Along Celebration – Cool down inside the Premiere Theater, where Anna and Elsa join the Royal Historians of Arendelle for a fun and comedic retelling of the unique history of their Kingdom, filled with delightful, sing-along moments from “Frozen.”
  • Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post & Frozen Funland – Inside Soundstage One, Oaken and his cousins have created a Frozen Funland filled with cold weather activities, unique photo opportunities, and more! There’s a frozen pond with ice skating demonstrations, wintertime fun for kids in the “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” play area, a “big summer blowout” with plenty of “Frozen” merchandise, and special “Frozen”-inspired food and beverage offerings.
  • “Coolest Summer Ever” Dance Party – Starting at 5:30 p.m. each day, a dance party takes over the area around the Sorcerer’s Hat Icon Stage, with a DJ, live band, and more! The band plays a variety of classic and contemporary summer rock & roll hits, as well as a cool, rocking medley of “Frozen” favorites. It’s going to be hot!
  • “Frozen” Fireworks Spectacular – Everything wraps up at 9:45 p.m. when Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf come together at the Sorcerer’s Hat Icon Stage for a grand finale to the day’s festivities, kicking off an awe-inspiring fireworks display set to the glorious music of “Frozen!”

I don’t know if I’m elated or … well, you know!

If you’re somewhere in that zone, like me, you’re already bursting with anticipation for “Frozen Summer Fun – Live at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.” Starting July 5, the sky will be blue, and you guys will be there, too! It’s going to be a great summer for snowmen, royalty, and anyone who’s a fan of “Frozen!”

  • would love to get married and have honey moon here but so broke!!

  • We are going to be at hollywood studios on October 9th. Any word on whether or not they are extending the Frozen fireworks show into October? Or whether they will keep any of these Frozen summer of fun packages into October?

  • Quick question..do you know how long the welcome procession at 11:00 will last. Can I make a toy story mania fast pass that ends at 11;45.
If they stay around for autographs or something… I would hate to miss my fast pass.

  • Do you need to purchase tickets to view these events?

  • Hi Shawn! Hoping you can tell me, I am getting conflicting info about Aug 23rd. Will all the Frozen events be happening still and just the fireworks cancelled for that day?

  • If you are not doing the premier package, but REALLY wat to go to the Frozen sing along celebration, is it best to ‘get in line’ as soon as the park opens, before the show time you are hoping to go to, or a different specific time?

  • We are visiting HS on Aug. 21. I purchased the Frozen package and I also already had a Fantasmic dinner package booked which means we would go to Fantasmic at 8:30. I believe the Frozen fireworks are at 9:15. Do you think I can fit in Fantasmic at 8:30 and still have time to enjoy the dessert party?

  • Do you know how long this will run? We hope to make it down around October/November?

  • Sarah you can purchase a premier seating as they called it yesterday… premier place for the parade and the brief ceremony on the stage, premier setting for one singing show and then the dessert party fireworks so its good for 3 things….and they only have a limited number per day so I was told yesterday… even if you purchase the ticket you also have to have a ticket for admission to the park that day… hope that helps!

  • This was awesome…. was there yesterday July 6th. Loved the parade – I didn’t stay for the whole day but planned to come back for o more of the Frozen fun…. love my annual pass so I can just go to these events! The Olaf cupcake was awesome and there was lots of merchandise for sale… Olaf was awesome will have to go back to get him… and I love the Olaf on the stick to take home and with you… have to go back to get another one cause as we left in the pouring rain his arms broke off… 🙁

  • Please extend thru September! Planning our first visit and my daughter LOVES Frozen. We would love to add this to our trip even more magical! Keeping fingers crossed 🙂

  • I was told by a disney reservations agent that a seperate attendance ticket is required to attend these events. $59 per an adult and $34 per a child. Can you clarify>??

  • I’ve seen great reviews of the event and can’t wait until we are there in August! I’ve heard that tickets are handed out for the Sing-a-long to those standing in line. If we’re interested in a Sing-a-Long later in the day (to work around already booked FP* and ADR’s), do you have any advice on how far in advance the CM’s will start handing out tickets for the next showing? Or will they just hand out everything first thing in the morning for the whole day? I just want to make sure we plan right on whether to go by about 30-45 min before the show we want to see or much earlier in the day. Thanks so much!

  • can you tell me will this be on next june as we are there from 18th till 2nd july.my granddaughter would just luv this.

  • My eldest is such a fan of Frozen I was so happy to read about this until I realised we would miss it! We’ll be celebrating her fifth birthday from sep 20 to sep 25, traveling all the way from Argentina 🙁
    Any chance they’ll extend it?

  • We are thrilled that we were already scheduled for HS on August 31st! Trying to rearrange Fastpasses for other attractions around the Royal Welcome. Approximately how long will the procession last? Going to purchase the Frozen premium package today.

    • Laura – Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome will be performed for the first time on July 5. As of right now, the team is estimating the procession and show will run approximately 20 minutes.

  • Amazing! How long will the Royal Welcome last? We have lunch reservations at 11:20 at Hollywood and Vine that can’t be changed now, will we catch most of it?

    • Kristal – I recommend grabbing a spot on Hollywood Blvd. so you can catch the full procession as it enters the park at 11 am. You may also be able to catch most of the on-stage portion of the Royal Welcome before heading to lunch. Fortunately, Hollywood & Vine is nearby!

  • Do you have to pre pay for this reservation?

    • Mayra – All Frozen Summer Fun experiences (except ice-skating) are included in regular park admission. If you’re interested in booking the Premium Package, which includes reserved viewing areas and a dessert party, you can call 407-939-1939.

  • Will the Olaf’s be available for purchase or do you have to return them as you leave the park? And any ‘hopes’ of them extending these events through maybe December?

    • Sonya – Take-Along Olafs will be handed out just inside the park entrance and near the Premiere Theater and Soundstage One, and he’s yours to keep!

  • What does the special ticket include? Do you need a seperate ticket to do all of the things listed?

    • Lauren – All the Frozen Summer Fun experiences are included in park admission, except ice skating which is an additional $10 per person (per 1/2 hour). The Premium Package being offered gives guests reserved viewing for three of the most anticipated “Frozen” offerings, plus welcome refreshments and a dessert party during fireworks.

  • Hi-
Will FP+ be made available for the activities at Wandering Oaken’s
    Best,
    Julie

    • Julie – At this time, Fastpass+ is not being offered for any of the Frozen Summer Fun experiences.

  • how and where do I buy the package?

    • Cristina – All Frozen Summer Fun experiences (except ice-skating) are included in regular park admission. If you’re interested in booking the Premium Package, which includes reserved viewing areas and a dessert party, you can call 407-939-1939.

  • I definately know where I and my family will be this weekend. Our entire family loves “Frozen” and can’t wait to be there!!!

  • Any chance this could be extended
through September? We are arriving on the 19th !!!!

  • Just had my Toy Story Mania fastpasses for 7.25 to 8.25pm on sunday 18th July cancelled I expect due to frozen fireworks What time is Toy Story Mania shutting to get ready for the fireworks does it affect Voyage of the Little Mermaid or any other attraction. Many thanks

  • This would be Awesome if it would continues for the Holiday Season! or every Holiday!

  • Can you please confirm if guests will be able to use their personal ice skates if they wish?

Many people are wondering if this would be permitted so long as they are brought into the park with proper hard guards on the blades. Your ice skating fans may be disappointed with use restricted to just rentals!

Please let me know. Thank you!

    • Jessica – Yes, personal skates will be permitted. Jennifer will have all the ice-skating details for you soon.

  • SO excited that this will be going on during my visit!! Can’t wait to go ice skating in Disney!!

  • So if you want to skate, you must rent skates? You are not allowed to bring your own and just pay an admission fee?

    • Christopher – You will be able to bring your own skates. Jennifer Fickley-Baker will have an ice-skating update this week with all the details, so stay tuned!

  • How many people does the theatre hold. Can we expect long lines to get in?

  • Will different colored wristbands be used for the different show times for the sing along in the Premiere Theater like it was for the Mark Hamill show during Star Wars Weekends? I would think this sing-along will be every bit as popular or even more so.

  • Disney,
Please, please, please consider extending this indefinitely. . . we are DVC members and annual passholders, but because we live in Washington, we will not be there again until November. . . .my daughters would be in heaven!

  • I hope they stick around long enough for those of us who have season passes to see since we are in a black out period now.

  • Hi. I’m preparing for our August trip to WDW and noticed that Hollywood Studios closes before 9:45 and as early as 7 on some nights. Does this mean the Frozen fireworks aren’t done on the early nights?

    • Jennifer – The ‘Frozen’ Fireworks Spectacular happens at 9:45 pm through Aug. 16. Beginning Aug. 17, the show time moves to 9:15 pm (thanks to earlier sunset). ‘Frozen’ fireworks will not be presented on Aug. 23, when Disney’s Hollywood Studios closes at 7 pm for the “Villains Unleashed” event. (The 8 pm closing times originally scheduled for Aug. 22 and 27 are being reevaluated at this time.)

  • Very excited for this! This will be my sister’s first trip (she’s 34!)! We are taking out children and this just added the cherry on top!

  • Just want to check what “through” meant 🙂
Is the last day (so far) to see this “Sept 1st”?

    • Clive – Frozen Summer Fun will still be offered on Monday, Sept. 1.

  • Wow, this is great news! How many minutes will the show “For the First Time in Forever: A ‘Frozen’ Sing-Along Celebration” take?

    I can’t wait till August!

    • Priscilla – The show in Premiere Theater will be about 20 minutes in length.

  • July 5 is our last day at WDW. We are going to have to replan our day since I have my very own 4.5 year old Anna. She will love every minute of these events. And our 15 month old’s favorite song is “Do You Want. To Build a Snowman?” Sing-a-long party here we come!

    • Kristy – Sounds like the perfect ending to a magical Walt Disney World vacation!

  • I was wondering if there are any plans to add Elsa and Anna to any of the Princess Character Meals around the parks?

    • Jill – I don’t know of any plans for that at this time.

  • Will Toy Story be closing early these nights due to fireworks? I recall it closing early for 4th of July fireworks… We love to do it later in the night… just wondered if closing early, what time need to be there by!

    • Susan – Yes, for the safety of our Guests and Cast, select attractions will have adjusted operating hours around the time of the fireworks presentation. Please consult the in-park Times Guide on the day of your visit for details.

  • Will there be a Meet & Greet during this? I know it is super difficult to get a Fast pass for them over in MK…I take my 6 month daughter to meet all the Disney Princesses in a matching outfit…She only has 4 more to meet, including Anna, and I have not even attempted to meet her because of the wait times. :/ I am super excited about this, whether they have a meet and greet or not!! 🙂

    • Katey – It’s going to be very exciting, with lots of chances to see Anna and Elsa during the day. You can meet the royal sisters and get pictures and autographs with them when they’re at Princess Fairytale Hall in the Magic Kingdom. Fastpass+ is available at that location, but is limited, so it’s recommended to make plans in advance.

  • I sure hope that this sticks around through the fall. We aren’t going to be in Disney World until the middle of November and my 5 year old daughter and 2 year old son would freak out!

  • I can’t tell you how excited we are!! I have a Fantasmic dinning experience (lunch) and we were going to leave & come back after dinner. You have now made it so we can not leave the park!!! Way to go, Disney! Stepping up once again! We can’t wait!!!

    • 🙂

  • Hi!! We just adjusted our park plans to also visit Hollywood Studios while we are at Disney in August! This sounds wonderful! Do you think any of the Frozen events will become Fast Pass Plus Somehow? Thanks so much-either way it will be fantastic!

    • Laura – Fantastic is definitely the word for it! Each of the aspects of Frozen Summer Fun has been designed to give all our guests exciting and various ways to experience the world of ‘Frozen’ and its characters, so Disney FastPass+ service will not be available at this time.

  • This absolutely needs to be extended! We will be there beginning October 29th. Frozen Fun, Halloween, and Food & Wine will all go together perfectly!

  • I see that the summer dance party starts at 5:30…. how long does it last?

    • Michelle – The “Coolest Summer Ever” Dance Party goes until 9:30 pm.
