British welterweight Ashley Theophane, who trains at the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas, feels IBF champion Shawn Porter will overcome undefeated mandatory challenger Kell Brook on Auguts 9th in New York. Theophane feels Porter has fought, and beaten, a higher level of oppossition. Porter has wins over Julio Diaz, Alfonso Gomez, Paulie Malignaggi and Devon Alexander - while Brook's biggest victories came over Carson Jones, Matthew Hatton and Vyacheslav Senchenko.

"I think it's a very good fight, it's a good clash of styles," said Theophane to Sky Sports' Toe To Toe.

"Shawn can come forward but he can box as well. I like his coach, his father Kenny, who's really on top of things: if he's not happy with something he'll stop sparring and speak to Shawn for 30 minutes if he has to. Personally I side with Shawn because I've sparred with him and I think he's been at a higher level. For Kell Brook - like a lot of British boxers - they wait until the biggest fight of their life before they go to America."
