Advisory

Winter Storm Watch in effect from Tue PM to Wed PM. Snow 5 to 10 inches possible; ice accumulation also possible.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for a storm that will move across the region tomorrow night. This next storm will bring several inches of snow to some parts of our area, and accumulating ice to others. Gusty winds may cause blowing and drifting Wednesday. Expect travel to become hazardous from late Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday due to reduced visibility and snow/ice accumulation.The complexity of this system will require forecast accumulation and impact updates as the time of its arrival nears. Get the latest forecast updates at www.weather.gov/iln. With ice accumulation possible, especially in areas south of I-70, power outages must be expected. We are updating our list of on-call Warming Stations throughout Wayne County today.

...WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 5 TO 10 INCHES POSSIBLE. SOME UNCERTAINTY REMAINS IN THE TRACK OF THE STORM SYSTEM AND SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE HIGHLY DEPENDENT ON THE EXACT TRACK.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE AREA LATE TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT. THE SNOW WILL TAPER OFF WEDNESDAY MORNING... BUT GUSTY NORTH WINDS MAY RESULT IN AREAS OF BLOWING SNOW ON WEDNESDAY.

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED DUE TO REDUCED VISIBILITIES AND SNOW ACCUMULATIONS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
