Former New Zealand off spinner Peter Petherick is passed away today here at Perth. New Zealand Cricket confirmed, 72 years old Mr. Petherick is no more. The Kiwi bowler represented country in 6 test cricket matches in which he took 16 wickets.

Mr. Peter Petherick’s biggest achievement was in his career that he is one of the only 3 bowlers in the world who have taken hat-trick on test debut. Australia’s Damien Fleming and England’s Maurice Allom are the other names in the list.

In his short career of six months (from October 1976 to March 1977) for Blackcaps he got popular for his hat trick against Pakistan.
