Cedar Hill, already a two-time defending state champion, will get a little more help with the pending transfer to the Longhorns of Stephenville All-State honorable mention running back Kaegun Williams, according to the Dallas Morning News and the Stephenville Empire-Tribune. Williams’ mother, who is a teacher, is in the process of accepting a job with the Cedar Hill school district, the papers quoted Cedar Hill coach Joey McGuire as saying.

The Longhorns were recently profiled as a Super 25 team to watch this season.

The 5-10, 180-pound junior-to-be ran for nearly 1,168 yards and 13 touchdowns and had 1,020 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns last season. He has committed to Texas and also was a key player on Stephenville’s basketball and baseball teams.

He also knows a good turn of phrase as he quoted USA TODAY High School Sports’ Cam Smith in his Hudl profile, saying that Williams was a “Beast in Ballet Shoes.”

Williams could help fill the void left by the knee injury of Jaylon Jackson, who is expected to miss the first part of the season. He is the second high-profile recent transfer for Cedar Hill as the Longhorns also gained Sachse defensive back Michael Clark.
