North Cowichan-Duncan RCMP are asking for the public’s help in finding Everett Jones of Duncan.

The 47-year-old man left his home in the Club Road area of Duncan about 11 a.m. Wednesday. He has not been seen since.

Jones is of diminished mental capacity and there’s a high risk he could lose his way, police said.

“This is out of character for Mr. Jones and the recent inclement weather increases the urgency of the search,” said Cpl. Krista Hobday.

Family and friends have been looking for him, and police have checked out local hospitals and areas that he is known to frequent. Cowichan Valley Search and Rescue is concentrating on trails and bushes, police said Friday evening.

Jones is aboriginal, with short dark hair and glasses. He has no teeth and is clean shaven, standing about five-foot-10 and weighing 170 pounds.

He was wearing a camouflage jacket and beige trousers.

North Cowichan-Duncan RCMP ask anyone with information to contact them at 250-748-5522.
