CONCORD — A federal grand jury has indicted a Brentwood man, along with five other suspects from New Hampshire and Massachusetts, on charges of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, according to U.S. Attorney Donald Feith.

Jorge Medina, 24, of Brentwood, is charged with planning to distribute, and possession with intent to distribute oxycodone and cocaine. Charges against the other suspects include cocaine distribution. Medina was arrested on Oct. 1 and is being held pending a detention hearing next week, according to a press release.

If convicted, the drug charges are punishable by up to 20 years in prison, a $1 million fine and at least three years of supervised release. "The charges and allegations contained in an indictment are merely accusations. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty," Feith added.

Also indicted were Mara Morillo, 40, Franklyn Morillo, 40, and Juan Rojas, 31, all of Haverhill, Massachusetts; as well as Justin Bartimus, 34, of Methuen, Massachusetts and Michael Lally, 27, of Salem.

The investigation was a joint effort involving the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force, a federal multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional task force; the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Haverhill Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police, the New Hampshire State Police and the Essex County District Attorney's Office.
