Eli Young Band's Jon Jones Welcomes Daughter Lila Pascale

Eli Young Band just gained its newest honorary member!

On Wednesday, Nov. 30, the country-rock group’s bass guitarist Jon Jones and his wife Sarah welcomed their second child into the world, their rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively. Lila Pascale Jones was born in Fort Worth, Texas at 1:30 a.m., weighing 7 lbs. and measuring 19½ inches.

“We are overwhelmed with happiness and are already so in love with little Lila. Our family feels complete as we start this new chapter of our lives,” Jones tells PEOPLE. “The Eli Young Band family just got a little bigger and a little better.”

Lila rounds out the family of four alongside her parents and big brother Hudson, who turns 4 on New Year’s Eve. According to the couple’s rep, Lila is “resting in Daddy’s arms, while her mother is get some much-needed rest and recovering.”

The couple says the plan was for Sarah to have a water birth, like they did with Hudson, but their daughter had a different type of entrance in mind.

“The birthing process went very quickly this time around, and Mom had the baby while standing up … never quite making it over to the birthing tub,” the couple’s rep tells PEOPLE. “The midwife was already there and able to help Sarah through the process, as the rest of the birthing team arrived just as Lila was born.”

Sarah and Jon chose an out-of-the-hospital birth experience for both their children after watching The Business of Being Born.

“While pregnant with our son almost four years ago, I felt like just another number with my OB, then stumbled upon the documentary The Business of Being Born,” Sarah says. “I was fascinated with the possibility natural childbirth with a midwife. After doing our research, we parted ways with our OB, and were in the caring hands of an amazing midwife and doula at a birthing center.”

“The benefits of a drug-free, natural childbirth were overwhelming: [You’re] less likely [to have] a c-section, free to move though labor, less likely to have tearing, quicker recovery for mom, home faster, less distractions, breastfeeding ease,” Sarah adds. “You’re able to labor on your own terms, move freely, change positions.”

Though the couple are passionate about their choice, they are also respectful of others’ plans for how they choose to bring their own children into the world.

“We realize that this is not the path for everyone. It has been a great experience for us, and we feel like a natural birth should be an option that expecting parents should at least be informed of,” Sarah explains. “There will always be cases where medical interventions are necessary; this path is not blind to that, and there are contingency plans in place. Neither of us are preachy people, and we don’t want to come off that way.”

She adds, “We just want to share our story, and hope that it leads more expecting mothers and couples toward getting educated.”

Eli Young Band is currently on tour through early March, with a few shows peppered in over the following months. “Saltwater Gospel,” the lead single from their upcoming sixth studio album, is out now.
