Happy President’s Day!
Monday, February 17, 2020 is observed as Presidents Day, the holiday that commemorates George Washington’s birthday (Feb. 22), and all the presidents of the United States.

Chester A. Arthur was a New York City resident both before and after he became our 21st president. His residence at 123 Lexington Ave. has been designated a National Historical Landmark. Theodore Roosevelt: Gramercy Tavern or Teddy’s
Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president, was born in NYC. In fact, his birth place house is a registered National Historical site. Located at in the Flatiron District at 28 E. 20th St., it is just down the block from Gramercy Tavern, itself housed in an historic landmark building.

Richard Nixon: Murphy’s Law
Richard Nixon, our 37th president, died in 1994 at New York Hospital–Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan, after suffering a stroke in his Park Ridge, NJ home. Murphy’s Law, a nearby watering hole, is a popular after-work destination for many hospital workers.
