    Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the country is fighting a war of its identity and a zero-tolerance policy will be adopted against terrorism.

    He made the statement while presiding a high-level meeting in which Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, Chief Secretary Sindh along with other officials were present.

    Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that terrorism will be eradicated from Pakistan and the country will fight against all terrorists.

    The premier said that the country “has seen dark days” and now is a time to be united in the fight against terrorism.

    “Pakistan is fighting a war of its identity,” he said. He added that the armed forces and state institutions should play their role in ending terrorism.

    He went on to say that a zero-tolerance policy should be accepted against terrorists and their facilitators. He added that it is essential to capture the elements devising plans against the country.

    Earlier, the prime minister reached the People’s Medical College Hospital Nawabshah on Friday and inquired about the health of the patients injured in terrorist attack at the Sufi shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sehwan.

    Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah, Governor Mohammad Zubair were also present on the occasion.

    Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa,federal ministers Chaudhry Nisar Ali, Ishaq Dar and National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. (retd) Nasir Janjua were also accompanied with the prime minister.

    Prime Minister Sharif and the Army Chief will also visit Sehwan to inspect the scene of the terrorist attack.

    Sharif will also preside over a high level meeting in Sehwan.
