St Kilda has made one change ahead of Sunday’s game against Fremantle at Domain Stadium, with inside midfielder Jack Steele rewarded for his strong performance in the VFL last weekend.

Steele was Sandringham’s standout performer in their loss to Coburg at Trevor Barker Beach Oval, amassing 34 disposals, nine tackles and kicking one goal.

The former Greater Western Sydney midfielder replaces West Australian midfielder Blake Acres, who has been left out of the side for the first time this season.

Steele, 21, played the first 11 games in his first season at Linen House Centre, before being dropped ahead of the clash with North Melbourne a fortnight ago.

But after one eye-catching display, Alan Richardson and the match committee have decided to bring the young Saint back into the side.

Earlier on Friday, Fremantle made three changes to their 25-man squad, removing Connor Blakey (club-imposed suspension), Stephen Hill (calf) and last week’s debutant Josh Deluca (ankle).

Ross Lyon added veteran Danyle Pearce, young key defender Sam Collins and half-back Ethan Hughes to their squad for Sunday’s game.
