And the style robbery continues. First Gucci tried it with Dapper Dan and now Balenciaga blatantly tried to appropriate the Ruff Ryder’s logo.

Swizz Beatz isn’t having it, though.

The French luxury fashion house recently unveiled their Spring Summer 2018 collection at Paris Fashion Week. Featured in the runway show was a male model sporting a green kimono jacket; under it was a printed short sleeve shirt that bore a striking resemblance to a piece released by Ruff Ryders in 2000.

Not only was the design of the shirt an exact duplicate but the “R” logo was converted into a “B” for Balenciaga purposes. Swizz addressed it directly via his Instagram: “we must have a talk about this Ruff Ryder shirt ASAP Dapper Dan with Gucci now this thoughts ?????? Blessings”.

In a following post the “Ultra Light Beam” producer featured the original Ruff Ryders shirt that inspired the shark bite and offered Balenciaga a way to get right.

Balenciaga has yet to formally respond to the allegations, but even to the untrained eye this seems to be a straightforward case of copyright infringement.

Ironically DMX and the Ruff Ryder crew has recently announced that they collectively will be doing a 10-city reunion tour starting September. Was Balenciaga trying to catch their wave?
