Larry Trees, a 51-year-old white man, shot at Forth Worth, Texas police officers after they responded to a call he choked a female relative. Miraculously, Trees was taken into custody alive and faces two counts of capital murder and an assault charge.
The Forth Worth Star-Telegram reports that police were responding to a domestic call in the wee hours of Saturday (Oct. 22) morning when Trees stepped out of the home with a shotgun and fired shots. The police returned with shots of their own and a SWAT team was called to the scene to handle the situation. Trees later surrendered and a woman of unknown connection walked out behind him. He is currently in being held in Mansfield Jail on $65,000 bail.
We certainly don’t need to remind anyone of how this could have transpired if Trees was several shades darker, do we?
