NBA All-Star James Harden and adidas Basketball have finally unveiled his signature shoe. The Harden Vol. 1 kicks off the the sneaker and apparel collab in the works ever since the Beard became a part of Team adidas officially at the top of October 2015

The Harden Vol. 1 features a full length Boost cushioning and a traction patterned tuned to his specific style of play. The upper is a mix of knit and mesh material while the asymmetrical lacing was also used in consideration of Harden’s Eurostep move.

“This was my first time creating a shoe from the ground up. With adidas, we wanted to stand for something different, be true to who we are and that’s how we separate ourselves,” said Harden via a press release. “This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and all the work we put in together is what makes this genuine. We’re open to each other’s opinions and we weren’t going to just put shoes on the shelves and say ‘This is James Harden.’ It’s built for how I play and you’ll see my style, different moods, the little details and stories that represent who I am.”

The first colorway, the black, red and white Pioneer, is a homage to Harden winning a 2nd straight high school state championship, with the  date (March 24, 2007) featured on the left sockliner and his game stats (22 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals) on the right sockliner.

The apparel will be available this fall, while the Harden Vol. 1 Pioneer drops December 3 and will cost $140 on adidas.com. More colorways, including the Camo, Gila Monster and Home colorways will release throughout the season.
