Channel 4 today confirmed that comedian Jo Brand will return to host The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice, the spin-off programme to The Great British Bake Off.

GBBO: An Extra Slice will follow all of the events in the tent, showing exclusive footage and unseen moments.

Each week Jo will be joined by celebrity fans of the show who will offer their verdict on each week’s bakes and debate their favourite baker. Jo and guests will also get to sample some of the ambitious bakes brought in by the eager studio audience.

As the GBBO bakers leave the tent and the competition they will appear alongside Jo to relive their best bakes and biggest mistakes of The Great British Bake Off series 8.

Brand said “As a completely mediocre baker myself, but lover of all things spongey and tarty , I am really looking forward to another Extra Slice and all the fun and frolics that brings.”

Transmission details of The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice are still to be announced. We presume it will coincide with the transmission of The Great British Bake Off later this year.
