Penn Hills school officials are investigating an incident in which a driver allegedly failed to help a third-grader after the boy passed out and hit his head while riding on a school bus, according to district spokeswoman Teresita Kolenchak.

An official at Krise Transportation, which operates buses for the district, said the driver has been reassigned while the investigation of the Nov. 8 incident is completed.

“Based on the nature of the initial report some corrective action has already been taken, and additional action may be implemented based on the outcome of our ongoing investigation,” Krise spokeswoman Kelly Wood said in an email. “Our top priority is always to transport students safely to and from school.”
