Bruno Mars won big at last night’s American Music Awards held in Los Angeles, California’s Microsoft Theater, but the R&B and pop sensation wasn’t even in the building. The charismatic crooner won seven AMA trophies in the ceremony, including Artist Of The Year among other nods.

Mars, 32, was away in Rio De Janiero playing a concert but chimed in with a video message for the fans and took to Twitter to also voice his excitement.

OH SH*T!!! 7 AMAs??? LETS GOOOOO! THIS SH*TS INCREDIBLE! They asked for one video they didn’t tell me I was gonna get 7 ! What??!?!?” Mars tweeted last night. He continued with, “Man! I could’ve got one of those photos of me trynna hold 7 AMAS like a G if I was there!”

Mars then began shouting out the AMAs and asking fans to photoshop an image of him holding all seven of his trophies, which the star selected one such image and asked media outlets to use the image in reporting the story. Even the AMAs Twitter account got in on the act.
