JENDO bags ‘Best Start-Up’ title by SeedStar Global

Jendo Innovations, which gives patients an indication of their cardio-vascular health, bagged the ‘Best Start Up’ title out of eight pitchers at SeedStar Global pre-selection competition held last week.

Organised in a bid to connect the best start-ups in Sri Lanka to the world, JENDO will receive a tour to the Regional Summit in Bangkok followed by Switzerland where the representatives will get the opportunity to meet different mentors and global stakeholders. 

The winner Jendo Innovations provides it users with the ease of measuring their cardio-vascular (CV) health by measuring their endothelial function. It believes through early-detection they can help more than 50% of threats caused by CV health problems, which has become the number one killer in the world. 

It provides the customer with the best health advices to keep him safe from contracting CV diseases in future. It is a device which is easy to use as the entire process will require only five minutes. It is also adept at monitoring of the recovery process of the patient’s endothelium after illness. 

The other seven start-ups that were selected for pitching were Alakazam – an intelligent bot that helps small businesses with their sales and marketing; BotFactory – an intelligent Bot without programming; DirectPay – an electronic payment option proving an alternative to cash and POS; BLUELOTUS 360 – an AI-enabled SaaS System Cloud EPR solutions for medium and large companies; MogoSuper – makes grocery stores online and automated through mobile app; Omentra – a B2B online marketplace for procurement; and GradChat – an international communication platform online for higher education institutes.

The judge panel for the competition consisted of Jeevan Gnanam from Orion City, Sahani Markus from Emojot, Sachindra Samaratne from ICTA, Mangala Karunaratne from Calcey Technologies, Martin Karanja from GSMA and Adriana Collini from Seedstars.

Last year Sri Lanka was represented by LayUp, which was based on improving employee engagement through online training and collaboration.
