Man mauled to death in Lapu-Lapu bar

A 30-year-old man was declared dead on arrival at the hospital after he was mauled by another man inside a bar in Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City past 2:00 a.m. Saturday.

Cesar Estoquia, a native of Panglao in Bohol, who is temporarily residing at Sitio Saac 1 in Barangay Buaya, Lapu-Lapu City was with his cousin John Mark Vistal, 21, at Tonyo’s Bar & Restaurant when the incident happened.

They were drinking and dancing when Kevin Cosep, 21, of Sitio Soong 1, Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City suddenly appeared and punched the victim in the face.

Estoquia fell on the floor but Cosep kept punching him until he was unconscious.

Cosep immediately left the place while Vistal rushed the Estoquia to Mactan Doctors’ Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending Physician.

SPO1 Lydo Pinos of the Homicide Section said they are still investigating on the motive of the suspect, who remains at large.
