Three Great Summer Drinks

Girlie, Fun and Refreshing

What a great summer we are having! Just the way we like it: sunny and HOT!!! A perfect summer needs the perfect refreshing beverage to enjoy in late afternoon with friends, in the garden, by the pool, on the balcony or the patio and if you are lucky enough, on the beach.

Here are three of my summer favourites:

Sangria Rosé

Perfectly girlie and absolutely delicious with fresh fruits and rosé wine.

1 peach cut in pieces

1 cup of mixed berries

1 ½ cup of white grape juice (or cranberry juice)

3 oz of Fragoli liqueur (or any other berry liqueur)

1 bottle (750ml) of rosé wine, chilled

Springs of fresh basil

Lots of ice cubes

Mix all the ingredients together and refrigerate for an hour. Except for the ice cubes that you add only in the glass, before serving.

Tip: use frozen fruit if you don’t have enough time to let it chill.

Pink Lemonade

Another one of my favourite that is also fabulous in a virgin version, for the kids or if you are pregnant.

6 lemons squeezed

2 cups of water

3 tbsp of cane sugar syrup (or granulated sugar)

1 bottle of sparkling water

6 oz (or more) of vodka

1 oz of cassis liqueur (black current or other berry liqueur will do)

Fresh mint

Lime wedges

Mix all the ingredients together and serve chilled decorated with lime wedges.

Tip: for the virgin version, omit the vodka and replace the liqueur with berry syrup.

Tropical Martini

So exotic, you will feel on holidays at the first sip!

2 oz of Malibu Rum

1 oz of Myer’s dark Rum

A splash of pineapple juice

In a shaker filled with ice, shake, shake, shake and strain in a martini glass. Add a dash of grenadine and decorate with a pineapple wedge.
