Internal Investigators (BBBH10680) Townsville, Australia

With the recent appointment of a new CEO, Townsville City
Council has undertaken a strategic review and designed a new
structure that is fit for purpose, resulting in a whole of
organisation transformational change. Residents and the
community are at the heart of all the Council does as it strives to
facilitate sustainable economic development for the region,
enhance quality of life for residents, and identify and unlock the
potential of the City. This will be achieved through inspired
leadership, co-design of services with the community, and
sustainable and innovative business partnering.

This is a transformation to a more customer centric business
model, and as part of that change in workplace culture, the council
is looking to engage 2x Internal Investigators to ensure
investigations into Council-related matters, including complaints
received both externally and internally, are dealt with in an
effective and timely manner. These key areas include:

  • Work-practices
  • Serious Misconduct
  • Corrupt Conduct
  • Workplace Harassment
  • Serious Workplace Health and Safety Incidents
  • Sexual Harassment and Workplace Discrimination


The focus will be on conducting detailed investigations into
matters. Including the assessment and prioritisation of complex
and sensitive complaints and information received from Council
employees, members of public and other stakeholders.
The successful candidates will have significant experience in the
management, research, coordination and impartial conduct of
complex investigations. Experience in Forensic Accounting OR
Legal / Criminal law is desirable.

These are senior roles, reporting directly to the Chief Executive
Officer. And include preparation of briefing notes and reports for
Senior Council Officers / Stakeholders.
