Porto’s Jody Adams. Tiger Mama’s Tiffani Faison. Menton’s Barbara Lynch. These Boston chefs have paved the way for women in the restaurant industry, and they’ll discuss their journeys at the Boston Public Market on Monday, April 3.

The market hosts a “Farm to Fork to Film’’ event to preview an unreleased trailer for the feature-length documentary “A Fine Line’’ by debut filmmaker Joanna James, exploring the challenges of women working in the restaurant industry.

It’s an uphill battle: According to statistics from the film, just 6 percent of the country’s executive chefs and restaurant owners are women; recent research from salary transparency website Glassdoor puts the pay gap between male and female chefs at 28.1 percent.

Chat with the Boston chefs — and feast on some of their signature dishes and drinks — at the screening. The Boston president of Les Dames d’Escoffier International culinary education program, Louisa Kasdon, moderates a Q&A session; there’s also live jazz.

Tickets are $110, and proceeds go toward the completion of the movie and its campaign for equal pay, equal work, and benefits for female restaurant industry workers.

Get tickets at www.eventbrite.com. The preview starts at 6:30 p.m. Boston Public Market, 100 Hanover St., Boston, 617-973-4909, www.bostonpublicmarket.org
