Judge Tim Krieger will move to Westmoreland County criminal court

Judge Tim Krieger next year will transfer to the criminal court division of Westmoreland County's Common Pleas Court.

Krieger, who has served as a family court judge during his first two years on the bench, will assume his new criminal case load in January, according to court administrator Amy DeMatt.

Krieger will relocate to a vacant courtroom on the first floor of the century-old courthouse next month. He will continue to hear family court cases there through the end of the year.

He will move to the courtroom and chambers now occupied by Judge Meagan Bilik-Defazio, who next month will move to the county's large, ceremonial courtroom on the second floor that was left vacant with the death of Judge Debra Pezze.
