MURDER charges were readied against a construction worker who allegedly killed a fellow worker in his sleep inside one of the buildings in their construction site in barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City last July 19.

Alejandro Estoria Jr. will remain in jail while the court hears the murder charge against him. Prosecutor Ernesto Narido Jr. said murder is a non-bailable offense.

Felix Parba Sr., the victim’s father who acted as complainant of the murder case, told police investigators that his son earlier confided to him that Estoria allegedly threatened him.

A witness also executed an affidavit narrating that while he played bingo with some friends last July 19, he heard a man grimacing in pain. The voice came from a nearby three-storey building located inside their construction site.

The witnesses said he later saw Estoria wearing a blood stained T-shirt come out of the still unfinished building before he finally fled their construction area.

Out of curiosity, the witness said he and some neighbors went inside the building and saw Parba’s dead body on the building’s third floor with a stab wound on the neck.

Estoria was later arrested by police at the office of FD Builders Home located in Barangay Subangdaku in Mandaue City. Police also recovered the kitchen knife used in killing Parba Jr. in his house in Nasipit, Barangay Talamban, Cebu City.
