Magnitude 4.7 earthquake hits Surigao Del Norte

A magnitude 4.7 earthquake, tectonic in origin, hit Surigao Del Norte at 10:29 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The tremor was felt at intensity 4 in Surigao City, intensity 3 in the town of San Francisco in Surigao Del Norte and on Limawasa Island in Southern Leyte and at intensity 2 in Cebu City.

The earthquake was recorded 9.66 degrees north, 125.5 degrees east and about 3 kilometers north of the town of Sison, Surigao Del Norte, at a depth of 6 kilometers, the Phivolcs said.

No damage to properties was recorded.
