THE country’s energy sector should be able to keep up with the power requirements of industries and households alike as the economy grows further, stakeholders at an energy summit were told Wednesday.

Sheryl delos Santos, Global Business Power Corp. (GBP) external affairs manager, said a solid energy supply plan should be treated as “everyone’s business” and not just on the energy sector alone.

She said the country’s energy requirements grows in proportion to its economy and the power sector must be able to keep up.

Other issues to be discussed in Wednesday’s energy summit were the power generation sector, roles of the Department of Energy and Energy Regulatory Commission, Philippine Electricity Market Corp., power distribution sector, and upcoming business developments in the area.
