VIDEO: Deaf Texas fullback enjoys magical and inspiring moment

It is hard not to be inspired by Micah Willis, a senior fullback for Arlington Martin in Texas.

Born with hearing loss, Willis relies on his hearing aids and lip-reading to help him in his daily life. But when the helmet comes on and the hearing aids come off, the world is a different place.

“On the field, I can’t hear anything,” he told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “But if you look at the crowd … you can feel it.”

Willis — and the crowd — were feeling a flood of emotions when Willis got to carry the ball in a big game against Fort Worth Paschal in regional play at AT&T Stadium, the home of the Cowboys.

After waiting for four years for this moment, Micah’s moment arrived.

Watch the video from the Star-Telegram, and it’s hard not to cheer for Willis, if you can fight through the tears.
