Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas is urging all Filipino voters to join a nationwide candle-lighting ceremony on Saturday (May 7), in preparation for the upcoming national elections.

The invitation, which first appeared on the Lingayen Dagupan’s Facebook page on Thursday (May 5), urged the voters to light a candle and pray the rosary just outside their respective homes. Villegas is also president of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).

(In choosing the rightful leaders for our country, we’ll need players to attain clarity.

We’re inviting everyone to light a candle and pray the rosary on Saturday, May 7 in any sidewalk outside your homes.

We pray for light in choosing our leaders.

Come out and pierce the darkness with the light of prayer!).
