The six-bedroom, 6,215-square-foot spec home is under construction at 1080 Mariner Drive. When completed, it will feature an open floor plan, high ceilings, oak flooring, and Italian floor-to-ceiling doors. The ask breaks down to about $1,930 per square foot.

Listing agent Alina de la Vega of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty told The Real Deal that the home is being built for the owner, but that the owner is willing to sell for the right offer. She declined to disclose the owner’s identity, but property records show 1080 Mariner LLC paid $4.1 million for the 12,900-square-foot lot in 2012. Before that, the owner rented the home that was formerly on the property for $15,000 a month.

De la Vega, whose mother Mayi de la Vega is founder and CEO of ONE Sotheby’s, is marketing the new house to international and local buyers who appreciate the home’s European-style finishes and modern design.

The home marks DOMO Architecture + Design’s first project on Key Biscayne, where a number of wealthy families have homes. In December, the former Matheson estate at 775 South Mashta Drive sold for $47 million, marking the most expensive residential sale in Key Biscayne’s history, and the second most expensive residential sale in 2015.

The Mariner Drive home will have Boffi bathrooms and a Bulthaup kitchen, Italian millwork and Delta lighting. The property will also include a boat dock and infinity-edge pool.

“It’s done the way anyone can live in it,” de la Vega told TRD. “Very simple, very well done.”
