On January 8, 2015, The Metropolitan Museum of Art held a press briefing at Jianfu Palace in the Forbidden City, within the Palace Museum in Beijing, China, about China: Through the Looking Glass. Thomas P. Campbell, Met director and CEO; Shan Jixiang, director of the Palace Museum; Max Baucus, U.S. ambassador to the People's Republic of China; Andrew Bolton, curator in The Costume Institute; and renowned filmmaker Wong Kar Wai, artistic director of the exhibition, spoke to 130 members of the Chinese media.
