Rough seas caused a five-hour delay of the M/V Trans Asia 9 from docking at Pier 5, Wednesday morning.

At least 343 passengers were inconvenienced of the delay but no one was however hurt while the vessel was having a hard time docking as scheduled at 7:30 a.m.

Commander Neil Azcuna, Chief of staff for Philippine Coast Guard Central Visayas (PCGCV) told Cebu Daily News the vessel had an engine problem which is another cause of the delay.

Baltazar Llenos Spokesperson of Trans Asia Lines said the passengers were able to disembark safely at 12:12 p.m.

“We are trying to determine other possible factors that’s why we are investigating. We are looking for possible factors that may affect future operations.” Llenos said.
