In preparation for the school opening, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is holding the Balik Eskwela Diskwento caravans in Central Visayas.
Diskwento caravans will be brought to buyers in Bohol on May 27, 30 and 31.
The disk wento caravans rolled out in Negros Oriental towns of Sta. Catalina on April 17 and 18 and Manjuyod on May 15-16 as well as in Siquijor on May 22 and 23.
Balik Eskwela Diskwento Caravans offer consumers discounts on school supplies and items such as bags, uniforms and shoes and prime commodities like bread, sardines, cooking oils, processed meat and detergent bars.
In order to take advantage of the influx of buyers to the Diskwento Caravans, consumer education is often conducted through parlor games, raffles and other activities.
