Looc, Guizo win Mayor’s Cup volley titles

BARANGAYS Looc and Guizo showed their volleyball prowess by winning crowns in the 8th Mayor’s Cup volleyball tournament last Wednesday at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.

Looc, behind former Philippine beach volleyball team member Jussabelle Brillo, defeated Umapad,  25-18, 25-20, 25-16, in the championship game to rule the women’s division.

Brillo, who paired with Janez Igot to win the 2007 Nestea Beach Volley National crown for the University of the Visayas, waseventually named Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Meanwhile, Guizo downed Casuntingan, 25-21, 25-17, 25-18, for the men’s crown.  MVP for the division was Louie Jay Ermac.
