Four men including a public elementary school official were arrested by operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) in a drug bust in barangay Poblacion, Badian, southwest Cebu, Tuesday afternoon.

PIB in coordination with Badian police arrested 25-year-old Niño James Pondoc, a suspected level three drug pusher, after a two-week surveillance.

Four men identified as Reynante Aliñabon,40, Salvador Pallero Sr.,42 and Bontilao brothers Isagani and Baltazar were caught in a pot session.

Senior Insp. Leo Logronio, PIB team leader, said Aliñabon is the officer-in-charge of Santicon Elementary School in Badian town.  The public school teacher is a noted drug user, he said.

“During our interview, he admitted to us that he uses illegal drugs. In fact, Badian police responded to the Aliñabon’s house after he ran amok last night (Monday),” Logronio said.

Police seized two large packs, six medium and 15 small packs containing illegal drugs from Pondoc’s house. Weighing at 13 grams, it had an estimated street value of more than P100,000.

Logronio said Pondoc personally handed over the P500 worth of illegal drugs to a policeman posing as a buyer.

“We have already been receiving reports about Pondoc from concerned citizens in the area for being a noted illegal drug pusher,” Logronio told Cebu Daily News.

Logronio said Pondoc can dispose at least 50 grams of illegal drugs per week and has been attracting local drug users./Correspondent Apple Mae Ta-as
