Warner Bros. To Put Last Chance Release Of Paramount Friday The 13th Films On Double Blu-Ray

Our readers know that back in 2012, Warner Bros. announced they acquired the home video rights of certain Paramount Pictures titles to be sold during a three year contract agreement starting on January 1, 2013. This deal, of course, paved the way for the first Friday The 13th box set containing all of the films in the franchise. Well, that contract is nearing it's end as of this year and it looks as though Warner Bros. is going to try and get their last few dollars out of our beloved franchise.

Thanks to a tip from reader Donn, all of the films of the franchise will be released on Blu-Ray as double feature packages on September 8, 2015. Pre-orders are up at Amazon.com now and it looks as though there is nothing new to be expected with these discs. Each double feature is retailing for $14.98. Check out the covers, back and front, below.

About The Films
The Friday The 13th films have grossed over $465 million at the box-office worldwide. Although the films were not popular with critics, Friday the 13th is considered one of the most successful media franchises in America—not only for the success of the films, but also because of the extensive merchandising and repeated references to the series in popular culture. The franchise's popularity has generated a fanbase who have created their own Friday the 13th films, fashioned replica Jason Voorhees costumes, and tattooed their bodies with Friday the 13th artwork. Jason's hockey mask has even become one of the most recognizable images in popular culture.
